Gerald Butler Burdine, Sr., “Jerry,”
was born on January 16, 1942 to Oscar Kendall and Rosa Moore Burdine. On Friday, January 20, 2012 at his Hendersonville home, he transitioned from this earthly life.

After graduation, Jerry decided to serve his county, and enlisted in the United States Army and retired with an honorable discharge with the rank of SGT 1st Class. He also worked and excelled at both: Kwik Sak, the Antioch, LaVergne and Nashville locations, and the Carmax, 100 Oaks, respectively.     

is predeceased by his loving wife, Ok Cha Ann Burdine; father, Oscar Clarence Kendall; mother, Rosa Lee Moore Burdine-Barton; brothers, Hadley C. Burdine, Charles E. Burdine, and James A. Burdine, Sr., and niece, Toni Whiteside.  

leaves to cherish his memory devoted sons, Gerald B. Burdine, Jr., Bruce L. Burdine, In’tae Ann and Randy Cole; brother, Albert A. Burdine, Sr.; sister, Gwendolyn L. Woods; his grandchildren who adored him, Brittany Burdine, Gerald Burdine, III, Jayla Rose Barnes, Titus Isiah White; great granddaughter, Amiya Ewing; nieces with whom everlasting and fond memories are forever in their hearts, Teresa Spicer, Tyra L. Burdine, Tiffany Carter and Nikki Giovanni Turner, Tamara Turner Coleman, LaKesha Whiteside, Dantere Craighead; nephews, James T. Burdine, Tommy Woods, Glasgow Woods, Richard Wimby, Kelynn Burdine Foster, Albert Burdine, Jr., Thaddeus Benjamin Tucker, a host of other great nieces and nephews; devoted cousins, The Moore, Roger and Galbreath Families and devoted friend, Ms. Barbara A. Sadler.

The entire family recognizes all of the new relationships and bonds created with Uncle Jerry, and we promise to make every effort to keep his memory alive with each of you. To all the children, KeeKee, Meecey, Bubba, Twila, Nicholas, Chris, Ryan, Jada, and Daja, he loved you all. Let his memory forever be in your hearts.
